I'm 3, almost 4 weeks out from having a Medtronic two lead pm implanted. I have sss with bradycardia. I'm still feeling short of breath, slight flutters and chest pain. Could it be that everything is still inflamed. I had considerable pain and bruising which is just now resolving.

Device check yet?
by TraJac71 - 2021-02-03 20:24:00
Have you had your post op device check? They made quite a few changes to mine in the beginning and once we found the setting it was much better.
As for the pain and swelling, I agree with the ice pack. I was not using one in the beginning, I don't know why, but once I did I noticed a big difference in how I was feeling.
Good luck!

Your heart could still be objecting but it really shouldn't be at this point. It does take a while for the heart to accept being paced but after three weeks it should be getting better.
Because you have SSS, you may need to have your pacemaker tuned to your needs more than others. Do you happen to know if you're "chronotropically incompetent"? This means that your sinus node no longer increases your heart rate during exercise. If you are, it may take several visits to the pacemaker clinic to get your pacemaker optimized to your needs. If this is the problem, tuning isn't a big deal but can be frustrating. Talk to your EP about your problems.
Stinging with Medtronic 2 leads

I also have a medtronic with 2 leads and have had mine about 3 months. I have a lot of stinging and discomfort at times especially at night but on a positive note I have my energy back and I'm having a more normal life. My doctor keeps telling me to just give it longer but I had no idea that I'd be dealing with this this long.

Are you icing? That helps a lot with bruising and pain.
It's normal to still be inflamed, yes. It is not normal to be sob, have flutters and chest pain. I would give them a call. It's possible the settings need tweaked. That is normal.
