My wife was diagnosed with diabetes about 25 years ago, after collapsing at her desk at work. Her blood glucose has been relatively stable for some time, with the help of several drugs (over time). She still gets glucose crashes but they're a whole lot better than skyrocketing glucose and a whole lot easier to fix (eat someting). She's never had to take insulin but does have to watch what she eats. She loves to bake but can't eat what she bakes, so I'm forced to do my part. ;-)

Hello Prettylady,
Seems to be a common problem and getting worse. My husband has a pacemaker and also Type 2 diabetes. For years we controlled it with diet, then we tried medication (Gliptins). Now my husband is on Lantus Insulin Pen injections and doing quite well. I hope it lasts without increasing his insulin.
I am sure you have been told that it is very important to try to get your blood glucose under firm control to help prevent many diseases like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, eye disease, diabetic neuropathy. It is extremely dangerous to run with high levels of glucose for long periods. Your healing from pacemaker implant surgery will be faster too with normal blood glucose levels.
I hope otherwise you are recovering well from your pacemaker implant? I do know that (was advised by Diabetic team) any trauma, infection, illness, may cause a temporary spike in blood glucose, so maybe this is just what is happening to you, but I would have a word with your Diabetes team if you are concerned and if your levels do not stabilise quickly.
