Pacemaker Makes Me Feel 15 Years Younger

After a continuous bout of Bradycardia (35bpm) I was hospitalized for a full week. The first half of the week was spent having Cardio docs see if eliminating my Diltiazem (Cardizem) would fix the problem. It did not - so they had to thicken my blood back up and then they installed a single-lead Medtronics unit. Now at 60bpm (minimum) I feel great and can walk over a mile without feeling like I had depleted blood in my legs. I will be 81 in June. I thank God regularly for the blessing of this bionic heart pacer.

Fifteen years younger!  How good that sounds.  I hope you continue to enjoy a quality of life with your family and friends doing all the things you want to do with the support of your new device.  You are an inspiration to us all.

It is always nice to hear success stories and encouraging news to help us to overcome any difficulties we may initially encounter when we first set out on our journey with a pacemaker.

My implant happened in 2018 and I too have been given a new lease of life.  It hasn't fixed all my electrical faults but it has fixed the essential ones, like keeping my heart rate up, thereby helping circulation/blood flow and allowing me to exercise without getting breathless, weak, exhausted.
