Jogging with a pacemaker

Got pacemaker 2 days ago and went jogging today.  I could feel the pacemaker bouncing in my chest.  Is this common?

Think you might wait until your stiches are removed or healed before jogging.  Just to make sure you do not dislodge it.  Walking is better and of course move you arm so you do not get frozen shoulder.  But do not lift anything heavy with that arm or raise your arm above your head.

I had a lot of swelling (and pain!) at the site that lasted a good 4 or 5 days. I am impressed that you felt like jogging, but I agree that it might be a little soon. Maybe it's just inflamed tissue that you are feeling at this time.

I'll go beyond the others.  That was really dumb.  Ripping the stitches open could be deadly.  An infection in a PM wound is deadly serious business.

Bouncing PM

I agree you're tempting fate by vigrous exercise so close after PM op.

However my PM bounces around during gravel bike rides and  iritated surrounding nerves  for days after. I now use shoulder straps apply pressure to the PM that limits the amount of bounce.

Let it heal for few weeks and the leads set in the place. You might start with walking and slowly ramp up to running, workouts etc based on your docs advise. If any lead breaks off , they have to open up and fix it which can only set you back.

waaaaay to early for you to be jogging !!!  I had my pm implanted april 8th,, i am still not allowed to swim or raise my arm above my shoulder or lift more than 5 lbs till JUNE 30th !!!! I think you should check with your doc as to when you can jog,,  i was only allowed to walk for first 6 weeks,,,

You know you're wired when...
