I will just be past my 3 week mark of getting my pacemaker. I know I can get in a shower, however, has anyone got into a pool and just walked around? We are going south to relax and I would love to at least get in the pool and walk around to cool off!
Thanks!

Walking in pool

I would check with your Dr. I walked in a pool up to my waist after four weeks ( I live in Florida and it's hot) but did not go in over my incision until it was completely closed. Best to check first. Have fun on your vacation!

I wouldn't suggest it. Lots of bacteria in pool. Don't take the chance.

i also live in florida and had my pacer placed april 8th and i'm not alllowed to go in the pool or ocean till june 30th...i was shocked but that's what my EP said.. something about there could be micro holes still in the incision, where germs can enter,,,, i think you'd rather be safe than sorry !!! killing me not being able to swim,, but better than getting an infection in my heart !!!
You know you're wired when...
You have a new body part.

What did your EP say about swimming? Chlorine or not, pools are breeding grounds for all sorts of nasty bugs. If any water gets into your wound, ther is a real risk an infection that can easily turn deadly. They usually give a list of restritions and a time when you can return to the activity. I suspect 3 weeks is too early for swimming. I know you said just walking around but a slip...
Follow your doctors proscriptions. There really is a reason behind them.
