Still waiting but a bit of good news.

Hello y'all,

I wanted to give you all an update that the transplant coordinator had just called me about the nicotine results.  As soon as I told her I use nicorette she told me that was fine, that the positive test result doesn't stop the process if there is a reason for it.  She said she just needed me to confirm I was not a smoker and that checked the box.

The remainder of my labs have come in and nothing showed up that would be a contraindication for transplant.

My psychologist is speaking with their psychiatrist to give me the all clear this afternoon prior to the meeting.

Other than that everything has been completed.

She said not to panic if I don't hear from them this afternoon since their meeting is towards the end of business day and I may not hear anything till tomorrow.

I sensed no signs of trouble so I am feeling confident it should go well.  As soon as I find out I will let y'all know if I am on the list, and the details.  If they don't list me I don't think it will be because I am not a good candidate but because they don't think I am sick enough but considering I am on inotropes now I think that box of being sick enough is prechecked.

Thanks to everyone for all the support!  Crossing my fingers for good news and also preparing myself for bad news.  No matter which way it goes there will be more challenges to come.

ASully

That's all I could think of.  That sounds like about the best news you've had.

("roller-coaster" because we're in MickyWorld with our granddaughter) ;-)

That is good news

ASully,

I am relieved.  One hurdle out of the way.  Whichever way it goes, you have come far and learnt a lot and so have we.  Not long now for a decision and I hope they come to the right one.  I will be keeping my fingers crossed too.

Gemita xx

Thanks for the uodate

I wish I was on the "fun" rollercoaster!

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
