Please can some give me advice

I am a 72 year old man. I was very healthy and live a clean life. In June of this year I was rushed into A&E and then the following day I was fitted with a Pacemaker and then discharged the next day.

I am now back at home trying to get back to normal life. I keep experiencing hot sweats and not feeling very well. This experience does not last a long time but I would like to know if this is normal and if any other person has this experience.

Many thanks for any help.
Kenneth

Hi ! Kenneth,
Welcome to the Club.
I can sympathise with your concerns.
The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event.
In my own experience, the combination of medication and trauma was quite a shock. The good news is.........it gets better!
Weeks or months? It seems to be a matter of chance.
(that means I don't really know what controls the process of feeling better).
Your best buddy should be your G.P. for the next few weeks. If you have any pain or symptoms which worry you, give your doctor a call. They may not be perfect, but they can usually help.
Best wishes,
Johng

cathryn and john say it all. it is a nerve racking time. noone is without a bit of shock to say the least. everyone heals differently. safely 3 months but any events you are not comfortable with call your doctor. welcome to the pacemakers club. this was the best thing that ever happened me finding this site. everyone here can relate to you. we all care and will be your best support. seems no rhyme or reason to why? it just happens to the best of us. good luck ken jessie

What everyone has said about covers it. I did have sweats at first and it was anxiety I believe. Like Cathryn said, keep a sense of humor and give yourself time to heal. The doctors at times act like getting a pm is minor surgery. But really, it is a big a deal, and we need lots of time to heal. It's been 4 months since I got my pm and I'm almost back to normal.
Please stay in touch and let us know how your doing,
Rusty

thank you
