If it's set at 60, it's kicking in every time your rate goes under that. It was probably in the 50's more than you think, or not going up on exertion. If you feel good, don't worry about the numbers. There is no number considered good or bad, if you feel good you are pacing the right amount. Many of us pace every beat.

97% means 97 out of every 100 beats is paced. There's no doubt you need it.

As Tracey says, the paceing percentage number, by itself, means nothing.  If a perfectly healthy personn was given a pacemaker and it was set to 100bpm, they'd pace at nearly 100% too.  If our natural rate is 50bpm, and have pacemaker set to 60, same deal.

Many of us are paced every beat.  Unless paced, mine doesn't.

i second what others have said but also be aware in simple terms there are two percentages,

atrial pacing and ventricular pacing.

The two are very different. I have no need for atrial pacing but as Agent86 points out if I was set to pace at a minimum of 60bpm, then my atrial pacing would be very high as I drop below 60 when asleep and that is perfectly normal.

My atrial pacing is negligible but my ventricular pacing is 100%. It is all associated with why your pacemaker was fitted and the subsequent settings.

Depends on which lead is pacing

When you say your low limit is 50 but pacing 94% and your heart rate never went under 50. My guess is this isn't the lead pacing 94%. You should have 2 leads. One should pace the top chamber and the other bottom chamber. If you have heart block then that would be all bottom chamber pacing. That 94% has nothing to do with the low limit of 50. You may not pace at all in the top chamber is my guess since your heart never went under 50. Pacing percent dose Not correlate with how much you really needed a pacemaker since we are all paced for different reasons and settings.
