Any new info on safety of the Hydrow rowing machine? I am 6 months post-op. If I limit rowing to 3 days a week am I risking an incident with my leads? If anyone out there has rowed without incident please comment because now I'm hesitant after reading the 2014 thread, but my dr says "no restrictions."

My cardiologist told me to wait 6 weeks post pm, then start slowly.
i did 15 mins most days the first week, 20 the next and on up to half an hour.
I do about 6 or 8 km most days now. It helps my knees as I can barely hobble to the shop!
I have a concept 2 and have done 1,380,555m since 1st may this year.
Wow - great stats

Good for you, Cardifflass. Best wishes to you, 2021pacer - best to try to keep up what exercise your doc permits you to do, before the determination and muscle memory expire.
it's ok

If you were training for the Olympic rowing team, you'd want to have a chat with your doctor. Basic fitness, it's fine. Staying fit is the best thing we can do for ourselves,

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.

If you would have no problem, with your PM, rowing three days a week then 168hrs a week wouldn't hurt the leads either. It's not a matter of time or frequency. If the leads were to break or pull out (they won't) it would happen very soon after you started the routine
Your doctor said you're good to go, why doubt him? If you do, it's time to get another doctor who you can trust.
