If you live in England do you find that your pacing check, which in the UK should be every six months is now no longer every six months, but when they have time to do it. I used to get my next appointment written on my appointment card at the end of each check. This has been stopped and you leave without knowing when your your next check will be. Six months will go by and still no appointment anymore. Is this happening to you? If not I would still like to know if you are still having regular checks.Ive got an awful sinking feeling. I am 100% pacemaker dependant.

I am also 100% dependent and have been so for 3+ years in the UK and have a NHS installed pacemaker-initially it was check ups pretty regular for the first year and as the voltage checks showed a 'long life' it has been a year at a time for the last 2 years- I am not worried about the yearly check up as from past experience I put my trust in the technicians.
This is an apt post as my year is up this Wednesday and I am off for my NHS annual check-they will tell me at the appointment when I am next due and I get a follow up letter appointment to confirm it. It could be 6 months and that would indicate the battery life is starting to run down.

i am in canada in the province of ontario about 200 miles south of toronto and i have since i have had it a check once a year. i don't worry too much as i think you can worry away too much. i also am 100%dependant on the pacemaker. i have felt good since i have had it. if i did not feel so good i would know to go to the hospital immediately. so i hope this helps. jessie

One week has passed and I must admit that each day I feel a little stronger.

Lotti here from Staffordshire.
I have had my PM 2 years and first had a checkup at three months when they turned me down (voltage). Really increases the battery life! Once that was done I go once a year. I am completely 100% PM dependant. All the people I know with PMs also go once a year so I guess where you are must have different guidelines. Give them a ring if you feel that you have been missed.
Hope it works out for you
