So my wife thinks I should get a medical bracelet or chain to make any emt's, docs etc of my situation. Does anyone else have them? Where did you get them from? What do they say?
thanks

I couldn't afford medic alert, I have my pacemaker card all the time. I also went onto E-bay searched medic chain(had a bracelet broke it in a month) a few different ones came up found one I liked. I paid under 10 bucks, they engraved it with dual chamber pacemaker and medic alert, plus free shipping.
Worked for me.

I wear one too that states my name, pacemaker, EP doc, phone number, and on the back I put an emergency contact. You never know what could happen and you would rather have the Doctors or EMT's know ahead of time that you have a pacemaker. You get used to wearing it and before you know it, you won't even know it's there. :)

Medic Alert

I also have a Medic Alert bracelet. It has on it complete heart block, pacemaker and that I'm on coumadin. There's a toll free number on it that medical personal can call to find out more. (name, address, doctors, medication your on, etc. )There is a yearly fee (though I think if it's too much they can help out with it) You get a basic bracelet included with you'r yearly fee but they also have alot of different styles you can purchase. I feel safer because even if I have my wallet with me this is quicker to look at than searching for any id, my pacemaker card, etc. Also, if I go out with out any ID (like on a walk) I'm still protected.

I have a medical alert bracelet too, I did a search and found some really nice ones at www.americanmedical-id.com. They will engrave on the back and front of bracelet with important information such as cardio doc.

I get my medical bracelets from Laurenshope.com. They are very nice looking. I usually have a couple of different ones and just change the ID plate. They are also rather inexpensive. If you have Medic Alert as well, you can have that number engraved also.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.

Hi dltrent.
I have a Medic Alert bracelet. You can obtain one from Medic Alert, 1-800-ID ALERT, or from their web site www.medicalert.org
Mine, gives a quick summary of what meds I'm on, my allergies, my heart condition, and that I have a pacemaker, and a phone number to Medic Alert, for further information.
