Pacemaker operating correctly

I'm sure your pacemaker is operating correctly but that doesn't mean it's operating correctly for you. Any time there are symptoms like this, or any change in the way you feel, you should see your cardiologist. Something is wrong but there is close to a zero probability it's the pacemaker itself. 

90% of a pacemaker's function is to alleviate symptoms.  If it's not doing the job, it's time to get help.

Rick you ask for a list of symptoms (side effects?) from a pacemaker that is not operating correctly?  I can only give you a list of benefits of having a pacemaker or to refer you back to your symptoms and heart condition which led to your pacemaker.  Did you by chance experience similar symptoms to those you have now?  If so, then it is possible that your heart condition has changed or is not being well controlled by your pacemaker or any medication you may be taking.

If your symptoms have suddenly changed from feeling fine immediately after implant in April to feeling short of breath, clammy and low energy now, you need prompt medical assessment and a pacemaker check.  I certainly wouldn’t spend time trying to find a list of possible symptoms caused by a pacemaker in such circumstances.

I have experienced feeling short of breath, clammy, weak with some chest pain recently during an arrhythmia and my doctor asked me to attend our local hospital for some urgent checks.  If your symptoms do not improve quickly, I would respectfully suggest you see a doctor, rather than seek advice here.  I wish you well.

Initial Implant

Your pacemaker is initially implanted right out of the box with the original settings.  As your heart adapts to being paced, it is usually necessary for your EP or cardiologist to adjust the settings for YOU! 

It is not uncommon but you should contact your doctor as wisely stated above and he/ she can help you with those adjustments.

Definitely go to your doctor, urgent care or the ER. When I had a possible heart issue awhile back the ER doc reminded me that just because I have a pm doesn't mean I can't have another heart issue. Don't wait!

Hi, my only real advice on what you say is going on with you post pace surgery is please don't try to figure this out on your own. If you are having the issues that you are having, please make an appointment with your Dr.  Don't wait...just make the appointment and let the Dr's figure it out....let us know what your Dr says please.
