Question About Remote Transmission Results

Hi,

I have had a CRT-D since 2019.  I just looked in my chart to see the results of my latest remote transmission, and I see this comment in the summary:

Since 10/23/22, there were 14 short V-V intervals reported.

Could someone tell me what this means and should I be worried?

Thanks!

Barb

Ask your doctor

Ask your dr to explain but from what I read, it's a feature built into Medtronic. If they were concerned, they would call you, I would think. Isn't the doctor aware of the same report?

This is mentioned in this pacemaker club thread:

Agree, for peace of mind, ask your doctors

Barb,

I found Lavender’s link extremely helpful.  We are all learning something here.

Since you have a defibrillator I am sure your clinic is monitoring you closely to make sure that your settings are appropriate for you and that you will not be subject to any unnecessary shocks from either under or over sensing problems.  They will also check regularly for new or worsening arrhythmias and would contact you quickly if they felt that any treatment plan needed changing.

I suppose the most important question we can ask is how do you feel?  Have you noticed any change in your symptoms since October to indicate that there might be a new problem?

However, for peace of mind, I too would go back to your clinic and ask them to confirm whether your results are normal for you, or if not, the significance of this finding with a CRT-D pacemaker and then please return and update us?

Just Spoke to Device Clinic

The Device Nurse told me that these "short V-V intervals" were specific to my device.  The device reports on them, but they are nothing to worry about. She told me that most likely they were related to PVCs, but I didn't entirely understand her explanation.  Depending on who writes the report summary, they may or may not make a note about these V-V intervals.
