Don't touch the area of the pacemaker and leads. My cardiologist said it'll heal faster if you just let it alone. I've never had a replacement yet because this is my first device. Hope you feel better soon.

It sounds like everyone's healing journey seems to vary drastically in pain/soreness. Some say a few weeks, others have said that it's completely fine if you're still a little sore after a few months.

I would do as Lavender said and try not to touch or annoy the area. And also keep an eye on the color of the wound and just the overall cleanliness of it. If you don't see any signs of infection or anything like that, then just give it time.

The body is an amazing thing, very resilient and able to heal from just about anything.

Were your leads replaced?

Hi, 

Did you have your leads replaced and are you asking about symptoms specific to this procedure?  I imagine that a lead replacement would cause different symptoms to the localised soreness from a box change op. but like you I can't remember any from when my leads were first put in. If this is the case it might be worth specifically asking for other people's experiences around lead replacement.

Sometimes when you get a new box, they use a connector to hook into the old leads to the new box. The ones I have are quite large. I don't feel mine but it's possible this is what you are feeling. How deep is your placement? I've had residual soreness for more than a month after replacement (I'm on #5). Mine is buried quite deep. It's nothing terribly painful, more of an awareness, particularly when I work out.
