nightly checks

Biotronik Pacemaker placed 1/18/23 after botched ablation for SVT. 100% ventricular pacing. Last night around 11:20 I felt a quick buzz at the pm site and then several minutes of weird heart rate changes. Is this something I will feel every night if I'm awake when it happens? I got no information about what to expect at hospital discharge.

Sorry to hear of your ablation troubles but good to know that your heart is still beating with the assistance of your life saving device! I am 100% ventricular paced as well. I think it's 42% atrial pacing for me. 

When I got mine almost two years ago, I felt all kinds of weird sensations as I was healing. I still get a strange vibration sensation as I am lying in bed drowsy. Not during the day. Not at a regular time. 

My Boston Scientific rep told me that my communicator (monitor) "shakes hands briefly" with my CRT-P device nightly. If anything serious is amiss-it notifies the company which notifies the doctor. 

Others here have said they feel a regular nightly sensation.

Buzz

Welcome to the place no one wants to be.

That "buzz" is without doubt the self-test. If it's enabled, it "recalibrates" the pacemaker each night at the same time.  Many can feel this, most can't.  Discuss the issue with your cardiologist and perhaps he can have the feature turned off.

BTW, I'm paced 100% (dependent), with no atrial action at all.
