Well Kirby, your birthdate says 1878😲 so you truly have had pacemakers a long time. 😘

I am on my first one (complete heart block)  but knowing yours lasted 13 years this time is certainly encouraging!

If your rate isn't going up anymore, you are in EOS (end of service). It's time! Ask them to check again, if it's switched modes you have less than 3 months until it stops and it's time to replace it now.

Hi I had this situation before when battery on low due . And pacemaker goes into like safe mode uses little battery I notice I was more tired . I felt less energy and it takes longer for my heart to raise rate . N on low battery pacemaker won't record data no more hope you get that changed

Thanks for all the replies . That's funny I've 1878 as my date of birth 😄 😆 yes I'm eager now to get this changed and dreading the procedure so want it over with .

CCHB as well, device number five.

A couple of mine have gone into that mode.  And was easily out of breath climbing stairs, would have to stop.

Check your pulse, get one of those finger clip things.  walk around see if your pulse stays fixed at some number like 65.   if so you are in that mode and it is definitely time.   If it is changing to match you then it has not gone into EOS.  

When it does though your rate is fixed and what seem like simple activities may be more difficult and you may have to stop and rest or breath hard, etc.  Its all part of the fun.  You are on number five as well so surprised you have not had this and the way insurance is going we will all have to wait for EOS to change pacers in the future.

Good luck, you have plenty of time to get the replacement.  13 years on a pacer is a very good run.

I've just got myself a new Medtronic adapta. This is my 6th pacemaker.  Got my first at 5 weeks old. 44 now.

I was on the table already to go when they noticed the type of leads I have wouldn't suit the new medtronic senses.  The pm they wanted was at another hospital 🏥.  So off the bed but was back on in now time !

The doc also notice I do have my own underline rhythm he thought I was 100 percent dependent so that was good.

So I've the adapta now. I do notice that my resting is quite low but it does now go up quick when I move around which had stopped happening on my finger pluse reader !
