Body fat scale

It's stongly suggested that we do nothing that passes (any) current through our torso.  Doing so can cause the pacemaker to inhibit pacing.  You'll likely get away with it but if not?

There is no body fat measurement scale that will work.  A water tank can be used.  It's more accurate but also much more expensive, if you can find one.

regular scales only

This is one of the very few things we cannot do. Any digital or analog scale that does not calculate bmi is safe.

Thank you for your answers!

I'm not depending on PM, but it is more safe to use a regular scale, sure!

I use electronic scale

I use the electronic scale that reads BMI. I'm 100% dependent and I feel NO change in my heart rhythm when standing on it 10 seconds. I personally don't think it's strong enough to do anything. Call the manufacturer. I'm pretty bold when it comes to my device.

Withings

I have a Withings Smart Scale and there is an option to turn off the BMI portion of it (so you don't get zapped by the electrode). I do still think the scale has many benefits (syncs with phone automatically, shows other metrics, etc.), but yes it will be lacking some of those main features because of this.

Take care

My cardiac rehab uses them and told me it was fine.

I am 100percent paced with a DFIB and have been using one since I got my first device in 2016.  The manufacturer of my scale clearly said no pacemakers but in my experience it's not an issue, I would see what your EP thinks, mine said no prob.  I think it's similar to the Iphone battery thing where there is a slim possibility it could interfere, and I also think with the scale if there is interference it's so short the device would just resume a second later.  I live in the wild side though, had an iphone 13 despite the warnings as well.

Body Fat Scale

I use one.  I spoke directly with my EP about it beforehand, and he said that it would NOT be a problem.  He said that what I would find is that the body fat measurement itself would be affected, and he was correct.  My BF% increased by 1%.  All other measurements remained consistent with my pre-PM measurements.  I use a Tanita RD-91.
