How long till can rejoin bjj an only going lightly with instructor and ovbiously being careful and doing kickboxing no sparring. Obviously will shower before and after. Also did not find a section for tattoos? With medatronic as long as it's five inches away it says its fine also not going near it just the left arm an only going to top of outside of shoulder not on top or anything and down my arm? Washing it three times a day obviously and have other tattoos an know how to take care of them. I'm also going to take antibiotics. Sorry for wrong spot. But ya this piece means the world to me years an years in the making.

BJJ

Had to Google what 'BJJ' meant. I'm certainly no expert in Martial Arts, but I'm gonna guess that a direct kick to your PM and you'll be riding a ambulance to the ER. There is nothing to protect a severe kick or punch.
I view your passion as a 78 year old, so I'm just more careful with myself.
As far as tattoos go, nothing directly over it or a couple of inches from it was what I've read.
Shower

Your doctor should have given you instructions regarding showering and sweating. Usually, a couple of weeks with no direct spray or rubbing (pat dry) for four weeks. No full extensions or the arms for four to six weeks.
Contact sports are, in general, a no-no. You can ask but I'd think any direct strikes wouldn't be allowed.
The bottom line, though, is that your doctor should be the one to ask.
Kickboxing

Kickboxing?😵💫😬
Won't hurt your device but could misplace it, ruin the skin over it, and hurt you.
Ask your doc.
kickboxing

A hard hit (and I've had more than one or two over 29 years of pacing and being very active) will result in a big bruise, not a damaged pacer, and definitely not a trip to the ER. The boxes are titanium, the leads are strong and flexible and intended to move with us. It's a lot tougher than we are.
Take it easy until you heal (4-6 weeks).
Be super careful once you start back (up to 3 months).
Sparring is never going to be a good idea but working out with a kickboxing routine and working with an instructor who is aware of your device is ok once you are healed and cleared for exercise by your doctor.

True and thanks, that comment just seemed angry and out of nowhere and clearly didn't read the post no sparing even though could do gentle sparing with instuctor who knows not to kick me in that area or at all except slow basic just for training. It's been more then 4 months. Thanks for the replys except the kick to the chest one lol.

If you ask for comments and people give you their personal comments-- don't criticize them for it. If you don't want personal comments DON'T ASK.

I went back to the mats after pacemaker was put in April 2021. I don't compete as I cannot control the environment should I need to suddenly stop but I do hard roll and help others in the gym get ready for comps. I use a pad protector in my rash guard and sometime will rocktape the pacer. The one thing I am conscious about is assuring the pacer does not flip under the skin as most pacers are sewn in at the top of the device with the bottom end free floating to allow ROM.
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!

Ask your doctor about returning to exercise but most say 4-6 weeks for most activities, sometimes up to 3 months for anything heavy.
I've never seen instructions on when to get a tattoo but I was told not to swim for 4 weeks due to infection risk. My best guess would be tattoos would be the same but I would ask your doctor.
