So grateful

I had a pacemaker put in a bit over a week ago. I still have a few restrictions, but for the most part I can go on with my life.
I want to say how grateful I am to have the opportunity to get a pacemaker. I realize that if I had lived a few decades ago, or if I lived in a different part of the world or a more challenging economic situation, it's likely I would have to live and die with a very low heart rate. I feel so much better now - I didn't realize how bad I felt and for so long.
Is it perfect? Unlikely. But it's very livable and I look forward to getting back to doing things I had to give up due to my illness. Last night I took a 3+ mile brisk walk with hills on a hiking trail, and there were no issues at all. I would never have done that a few months ago.
Peace!

I'm like you, I have thought many a time about how I would have reached my expiration date without the CRT-P I have. So blessed it's available to me. My life is *normal* thanks be to God.
Wonderful news

Danno,
You sound so optimistic about the future and I am sure that is helping your recovery.
I just want to wish you all the very best, although you sound as though you have everything under control already. A three mile plus brisk walk with hills on a walking trail sounds quite an achievement, especially as you had no issues at all. The pacemaker is clearly working well for you and this is so deserved.
I hope you continue to make excellent progress. Please keep us updated when you have time so we can enjoy the journey with you.

What a happy report.
Living well with a pacemaker is largely a matter of attitude. You clearly have the kind of positive, reasonable attitude needed to take advantage of all the quality of life gifts a pacemaker can bring.
Thanks for letting us know.
