why some are able to get results from pacemaker transmissions

In reading the post from Disney Fan (sorry you had that problem and thanks for putting in your problem and so we can answer).

After reading the posts from Good Dog and AgentX86 telling us they can get their reports from their hospital either by logging in or from an email.   So much easier than a private clinic, that i for instance have to call and then go pickup.

I have been using the PT at my local hospital.  That person inputs what I do to my account.  Before i am even home the new report is in my account and have an email from the hospital saying i do.

While doing PT at the beginning of this month something happened to my lower spine.  When i stood up had pain, once i started walking no pain.  Now do not have that problem.  One of my concerns was getting out of my pool.  Was having trouble with the top step.  Who knew i was doing it wrong by putting my left foot on the top step first.  Now i know to put my right foot on the top step, then my left one.

To be complete, it's not just from the hospital (my cardiologist is "independent but owned by a hospital) but also independent doctors, and even my dentist. I had my wrist surgeries and followup OT done at an independent orthopedic doctor and surgical center (the second was done bby an indpendant doctor in a hospita OR).  There were reults from those encounters on their web site by the next morning, too.

This is almost universal, at least here.  The reason may be that the work has to be done for insurance companies (and/or government) so why not post it for the patient too (with the bill).

I have asked my pacemaker clinic if they could post to my patient portal.  At that time they said their computer system was not attached to the office system.  Like wise when i ask at the check in for copies not in their computer.                                                                                                               i only want the log of events and the summary page.  The other graphs i do not need.

Reports

I request my report in person at the six month pacemaker interrogation clinic. The tech prints and hands it to me. I've never requested the remote transmission report which is at the three month mark. I figure they'll call if it's something I need to know.

My pcp and cardiologist, hospital etc have patient portals. Not all info is included. When at the ER, I get emails and know all test results before the doc even talks with me.

Access to medical records

by Gemita - 2023-07-25 13:13:37

Hello new to pace, thank you for your update as well as your comments about access to your records.  We live in very different worlds, don’t we and you all seem to have a good system going over there with fairly immediate access to your records.  Wish I could say the same this end although it is getting better.

To be fair most good UK GP surgeries now allow patients to have online access to their records, but my GP surgery is still unable to let me view my records online, even though I believe they are required by law to do so.  Instead I have to ask reception staff for a copy of any consultant letters that are not copied to me (which I always request but don't always receive), or other investigations and they usually oblige immediately and print one off for me, but what a waste of time and money when I could view same online if they made all my records available.

With my pacemaker records or other hospital letters, reports, investigations, etc. I generally have to formally apply to the hospital I am under, for access to my records under the The Data Protection Act 1998 which gives living individuals rights to access their own records, but applying formally like this takes time.  For example, I applied for access to some of my pacemaker records last November and I only received them at the end of May this year (but well worth the wait - pages of the stuff and Pet Scan, Echo results as well), so I now have the complete story.  Some London hospitals though do allow patients to have access to their records online, to see clinic letters and results of investigations for example.

When I attend my pacemaker clinic, my technician or EP are more than willing to answer my many questions, but my records are not available to me personally at that time.  I have to request access formally with a valid ID (driver licence or passport) before they will process my application.  And for each application for access say to my pacemaker records, this process has to be gone through, so I just request pacemaker data annually.  My next check is on 1st August and I will speak to the technician to see what can be done to improve access if at all possible?

New to Pace I am glad your lower spinal pain on standing appears to have resolved now.  Not sure that I quite understand what you mean about placing the right foot on the top pool step first before the left one.  I would imagine it depends which foot you start the ascent on will determine which foot (right or left) will reach the top pool step first

feet which one first

Thanks Gemita, Lavender for answer.                                                                    After i put my left foot on the pool deck  was having trouble getting my right foot not to wabble after getting on the deck.  Well i pause, on the top step in the pool as i take off my water shoes.  So he suggested i put the right one first and then the left on the deck.  Worked for me this afternoon.
