I'd rather be out as well.  I'm scheduled for Carpel Tunnel Micro Surgery soon.  Dr. will do it under a local anethesia, not putting me out -- primarly because of PM.  I will NOT be looking at the surgery while it's being performed.

Thanks everyone!  I'm back home and all is well.  Docklock, I hope things change and you get some sedation.  
I'm not sure why I was told no sedation originally.  I asked everyone in the surgery room if many people just got a local for pm battery replacement and they all said they couldn't remember anyone not getting at least the Versed and Fentanyl they gave me today. 
I was happily surprised when the nurse started the IV line!  
I also learned from the Dr. that having my device in safe mode most likely did not account totally for the drop in the EF from 50-60 to 45 in 7 years and to follow up with a cardiologist.  My dad had a massive heart attack at age 42 and my older sister just had a mild heart attack so I will def follow through with that.

Til then...appreciate everyone's help and support.  What a great group!

Box replacement can be difficult

Chum of mine reported that the surgeon really struggled to free his old PM from the scar tissue that anchored it in place.  Not comfortable and quite slow, much worse than the initial pocket creation.

Still on my first, so I have that to look forward to!
