Extra beats PVC and PAC

Yes, extra beats are followed by a compensatory pause ( ie. it appears you have missed a beat). This gives the ventricles chance to recover from the extra effort. Such beats are often incoordinated.
A home monitor, such as a KARDIA ( ECG machine) can be quite useful.
An ECG may help your concern and be reassuring. No doctor would think you are crazy with such a story and a pacemaker.

I have a condition that causes my heart to miss a beat . My daughter has the sam condition .When she was little her pediatrician told my wife about this so she would not worry about it . My cardiologist told me it had to do with the valves in the heart opening and closing . Have you experienced a missed beat in the past? I would ask your Cardiologist his opinion. It's always better to know than it is to worry about something needlessly. Geo

Hello
You have a pacemaker fitted and as far as I'm aware, the PM should have a minimum IPG rate set, usually 60 or 70 BPM.
That's the first thing to check.
Then check your actual pulse rate somewhere like the wrist radial pulse. Blood pressure monitors are good for pulse as they indicate your real blood movement. Oximeters are least reliable, or the one I have is.
PVCs or PACs (ectopics) can certainly interfere with PM timing.
I get 100 PVCs an hour and currently, it's been reducing my palpable pulse down to between 30 and 40 BPM. The ectopics can be the only explanation.
You can bet that if the technicians check your PM, they will say it's OK.
I'm due to see F2F a pacing consultant in 3-weeks and hope to get an answer. At the moment, I'm on the maximum dose of Bisoprolol (beta blocker) which I presume is an attempt to calm the ectopics.
All was well for 18-years until the ectopics started 9 months ago. Then blackout and falls started as the blood pressure dropped. Seem to be having some respite at the moment at the cost of fatigue and exhaustion.

Have you counted your pulse to see if it actually is getting slower?
PVC and PAC can feel like missed beats, they're little half beats between the full beats.
When in doubt, call your doctor. If you have a home monitor, send a report. It will tell them if something is off with the pacing and you are getting under your lower limit.
