How often does it send reports? Mine only sends every 3 months so I never take it with me when I travel. If it misses one, it'll just send it when I get back.

My device is only monitored when I'm within ten feet of it. My doc said it's ok to leave it at home when traveling, but if I will be gone longer to let them know. I can also take it with me. You could call and give them the heads up that you're away and they'll let you know their policy.

Are you concerned about particular symptoms?  Before monitoring was a thing, we used to be seen every 6-12 months, but could call if there was a problem. I thought it worked OK, but I imagine more monitoring is helpful if there is something you need to keep an eye on?

Ha! I asked the same question as I was away for  5 weeks. It seems the monitor only dumps info. every 3 months. ( Boston Scientific).  I think my question was phrased , " How do you know I am not dead?"!

You are not tied to the monitor, the device does the job on its own.  I would not hesitate to leave it behind.  Of the 36 years with pacemakers have only had a monitor a couple of years.  Before that the phone box with the magnet, and that was like once every 6 months, in between in office visits and before that nada, show up once a year for an in office visit.  The tech is newer and better than 30 years ago, at the same time the lawyers are more fearful.
