Does the blue light on the cellular adapter only come on when transmitting or is it suppose to stay on all the time?

Thanks for the reply! They sure don't provide much info to the user!

When you call that number, there is a number to push (don't remember what it was) to get a recording regarding the up to date cell adapter. In the recording, it's explained that the light does not stay on unlike the old one. Should be able to access this info 24/7.

I certainly agree about the lack of information, especially from the hospital side.
About ditching F2F clinics and going to home monitoring (Medtronic), absolutely nothing.
There's one button on my Medtronic MyCareLink, a big green prominent thing. Nothing in the instructions but it looks important.
Eventually found out from Medtronic, not the hospital, that it's for the technicians to use.

Likewise on the Merlin@Home monitor - there is a big button sitting there, which I used once while on the phone with the Abbott tech, but I was told otherwise to leave it alone until/unless told to use it. I think it initiates an immediate interrogation and dump to Abbott which would go on through to your pacemaker clinic with resulting insurance charges. Unless you really want someone's attention NOW, you're better off making a phone call.
Surprisingly, they are able to schedule remote interrogations to happen overnight that don't require anything from you other than to be in the same room. You don't have to push any button. This is the big data dump, different from the usual nightly connection that only reports anomalous behaviors and issues that trip various alert levels. At least, that's how I understand it.
[Tanker, just wanted to add a little more here to help the next person with questions about the remote monitors.]

Abbott heads up

Just curious. I found out the hard way that my old cellular adapter would no longer connect to the network. Got an email from my Doctor's practice that they were no receiving data. I spoke to a nurse who explained to me that I needed to get the updated adapter. I told her that Abbott should have contacted users about this and she agreed and said she would complain to Abbott. Did anyone hear from Abbott regarding the need to get an updated adapter? If so, how were you contacted? Lettert, email?

If you read the post by DoingMyBest - 2023-10-15 21:27:23, you'll see that that person also has the same model Merlin2home EX1150. So I really don't know what you are talking about.

I have the same model as you. The blue light on mine is currently off. I believe it is only on when there is a cellular data connection in progress.
When I brought my system home in August, my setup instructions were incomplete. I called the Abbott helpline and a very knowledgable and helpful tech patiently helped me confirm my setup and tested all my connections - pacemaker to Merlin, Merlin to Abbott, Abbott to my local device clinic. All was good. Simpler and more bulletproof than expected.
The Merlin/Abbott help number in the USA is 877-696-3754. Of course, you'll need to identify yourself and I'm pretty certain I had to provide my pacemaker model and serial number. Good luck.
