Muscle loss

I recently saw an EP that I haven't seen in a while. I'm 74 and have lifted weights since I was in the sixth grade when I got my first weight set. I've always lifted free weights. The only thing I have to worry about is touching my pm with the weights. I have a couple of times but the pinch I get lets my know not to touch the pm. The EP told me the best thing I could do to ward off muscle loss was eat enough protein and lift weights. That's what older people do. They quit eating enough protein and stop resistance training. Taking 6 weeks off is good you need to heal. I don't restrict the lifts. I do anything that strikes my fancy.
Keep lifting

Weights

Sounds like a sound plan.
And in the meantime no reason to stop walking.
Cheers,
John

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.

Got 1st ICD age 66. Had trained with weights most of my life. After about 6 weeks healing time I switched to machine resistance training. Less chance of injury. However, you can walk, stationary bike and other safe forms of exercise so keep training.
