Palpitations after Covid vaccine?
by Gemita - 2024-01-05 11:37:36
Hello JimmyandJeremy,
Oh yes, many times. With any vaccine which has the potential to trigger a strong immune response, there is always the possibility of suffering unwanted symptoms, including palpitations. After each one of my Covid vaccines I had an increase in all my arrhythmias, as well as lymph node enlargement and high temperature. So yes, I would say it can be normal, at least for me, to experience palpitations following the Covid vaccine. Do you have any other symptoms that concern you?
I had a word with my doctors and was advised to increase my beta blocker dosage slightly until things settled, so if you are having high heart rates I would speak to your doctors for advice. I hope otherwise you are well and your heart is behaving?

I had atrial flutter on both occasions having been infected with Covid. ( Lasting 1 month, and 2 weeks).
My cardiologist, when I discussed this, told me they were quite busy dealing with the effects of Covid and the heart.
Apologies

jimmyandjeremy, I think you are asking about palpitations after Covid, not after the vaccine? My apologies if I have misunderstood your question.
Yes I had Covid before vaccination in early 2020 and I suffered months of difficult palpitations. I was told I had multi focal atrial tachycardia at the time. I was unstable and required extra medication to calm these and also to calm a bacterial chest infection. I was extremely poorly.

I was in atrilal flutter when I had covid, and have never had palpitations.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.

while you are waiting for others to respond you might look in the search box as that has been answered before. By the way it would be helpful if you put in your location , make, model of your pacemaker.
