Had a av node ablation with a Micra pacemaker, no leads, April 3rd. They set my bpm at 80 then 3 weeks later to 70 bpm then a week and a half ago down to 60 bpm. I am having major energy issues but I think I felt better with the 70 bpm. Has anyone else had to have their rate raised. Thank you for any advice.

Micra Settings

I had energy issues right after I got my mirca as well. In the hospital they had set my lower limit at 60. I am not sure exactly what you are going through but from when I got home and started getting moving I couldn't walk more than 10 steps without being short of breath.
The issue for me was actually the sensing of my micra. Micras are a bit more complex than a standard pacemaker because they have to "hear" when to beat your heart above the 60 or 70 they are set to in the hospital. Mine wasn't calibrated well and wasn't hearing when to beat right so I was stuck at my lower limit, 60, 70% of the time. The good news is I told my EP about it and they had me come in. It took a 4 hour appointment with 3 technicians but we got it calibrated better and now my energy issues are pretty much gone. I would suggest letting your EPs office know about your energy issues and concerns so they can help adjust the settings on your micra.
A good thing that can help your team is to write down dates, times, and what you were doing when you didn't have enough energy so they have more info to help make adjustments to your PM.
Good luck! I hope you can get your energy up again soon :)

AV Node ablation and lower heart rate

I would contact your clinic and tell them that you feel better with your pacemaker set at 70 bpm. After an AV Node ablation they usually set it higher for a few months because there is a small risk of ventricular arrhythmias occurring during the first few months and a higher setting may help to prevent this. In any event, as far as I am aware, most AV Node ablation patients do better with it set higher and rarely to less than 70 bpm.
I hope your symptoms improve quickly and that you will do well with your Micra
