Biotronik messenger.

I have recently purchased online a Biotroniik  home monitoring device from USA. I live in NZ. I havent been able to register it. When i try to register i get to the end of all the questions then it says something went wrong and that ishould wait a week. Thats a few weeks now. My Pacemaker tech told me the app doesnt work in NZ. Anyone know about this. Thanks Colin.

There's usually a bit more setup involved

OK, so my kit is Boston Sci.  However the remote monitoring device is locked to my PM (for security and so that it can cope in a household with 2 or more PMs), which was done when I first received the device.  It's usually possible to clear the association and re-use it, but it requires the vendors programmer to set it up.  I would expect Biotronik to have the same locked association between implanted device and remote monitor.

Secondly, most of these remote monitoring devices can send to a few different receiving sites around the world (wouldn't be much good to send all data to Brussels, Belgium for a USA patient), and that is often set on the outside of the device with DIP-switches, so that the patient can change it themselves if they move or are abroad for a long time.

I'd be surprised if your device can *never* be used in NZ, but I think you'll need help from your EP-team and/or Biotronik.

Biotronic Monitor

The Biotonic Monitor is set up to communicate to the Biotronic Service Centre ( daily).

Only your physician has access to that centre I believe. The data is encrypted. Each physician can set the criteria for evaluation of the patient which can be configured to message, or e-mail the physician.  The site used is protected as an Internet Home Monitoring Centre ( HMSC).

I hope this explains your difficulty. You need to contact your cardiac centre for help. There is no reason as to why an app shouldn't work in NZ. There is every reason why you cannot use the app.

I am looking forward to being back in NZ for my 12th visit this January as I have grandchildren in NZ.

I would agree with the others.

I don't think it's going to be an easy job and setting what I presume is GMS device could be a challenge.

Have you looked for any manuals? Sometimes you can get User and Engineer versions.

Probably all you have done is register the device.

Did you check that the USA device is going to be NZ compatible?

I don't know the Biotronik monitor but it probably has to be paired with the monitor if the first link is Bluetooth, then presumably the GSM to data hub.

It begs the question, why are you doing this in the first place.

In the UK, if the clinical team decide for whatever reason you need a home monitor, they arrange it all, the monitor is free of charge and you just plug it in.

I would think your chances of getting this to work, given all the links involved and a lot of security, are not high.
