I'm sorry that you have this concern. It's good that you went for help! When did your doctor recommend a recheck?
If it brings you peace of mind, thereby keeping your stress level down, you could go get your blood pressure checked professionally again. 😉
bp

Changing the settings isn't likely to bring down bp that high.
Have you heard of white coat syndrome? My bp will be perfectly normal at home, but it always checks high at doctors offices.
It's a good idea to check your bp at home. Monitors aren't that expensive. Also, many grocery and drug stores have machines where you can check it. If it stays that high, go see your primary asap.
Did you feel bad with your rate at 79? 60- 100 for a resting rate is considered normal. The pacer won't let us get too low, but it's ok if our resting rate is higher than the minimum setting.
You know you're wired when...
You can feel your fingers and toes again.

Your figures

When did your figures go up? How do they relate to your pacemaker appointment?
Do you check your BP on a regular basis?
If the highish figures were a one-off, I probably wouldn’t worry, but if it's part of an upward trend, it might be time to get advice.
There are others here far better qualified to offer advice on the causes of hypertension, but I'll stick my neck out and say that your BP and pulse rate issues are separate to your pacemaker settings.
Lowering your base rate could affect your blood pressure, but you have to achieve that base rate in the first place.
Blood pressure is primarily a plumbing problem. A pump working against the resistance of the pipework.
79 BPM is nothing exceptional, in fact fairly normal. Unless of course your normal is much lower.
My advice would be if you're not already doing it, is take BP readings once or twice a day and keep records. A simple spreadsheet and a chart can show you exactly what is going on and when.
In my experience, stress is the number one factor in raising blood pressure, or forgetting to take medication.
Are you on BP medication?
BP medication can be a factor if you have a pacemaker. For example, a GP might raise your beta-blocker dose to control BP because the PM is there to protect your heartrate, where it might not have been tolerated before.
