posted this to some friends...
So had a major tweak on my pacer last week or so ago.
Upper HR had been set to 140
When I would hit that upper limit, the device auto drops my HR to around 80.
Imagine going along on a ride or a weight workout and all in a sudden you body starts pumping out half the blood it was
Yeah it’s that dramatic.
So we talked at the doc about what I do etc.
220 minus your age equals theoretical max HR.
That puts me at 157. So they set the upper limo to 160.
Now I’m not wanting to go max ever. Not my thing. But yesterday on cardio and weights, I’d get up to 135-140 on my chest strap monitor. Full exertion.
HR never dropped. Fell naturally when I ended a lift or got off the rower.
Everything just felt normal. Thank you Lord.
Just a simple tweak. Changed it all for the better (so far).

That's a good result.
If you ever get the time to read the clinician manual for your pacemaker, there are as many tweaks if not more than an F1 racing car.
The trouble is you often get the default settings and nobody seems to have the time to do the fine tuning
Probably many people could benefit from a tune up, but it can be hard work getting one.
Same here

Tex61 - I had pretty much the same happy experience when they raised my upper rate from 130 to 150. Felt like I was years younger. It is good isn't it!
Yep

Had to promise them I wasn't gonna try to push 160
to the other post, I downloaded something on my device but I don't think it was that detailed.
I googled a lot of stuff on my Medtronic's
Good news!

Doncha love it when the pieces all fit together for a good result?🥳
Raising MTR
by Rch - 2024-09-08 02:56:31
Great idea! I was also going to ask my device tech to raise my MTR from 130 to 140 (I'm 79). I have similar issues with HR swings when I try to walk uphill HR sometimes crossing 130. The only thing I have to make sure however, is that I have no evidence of retrograde conduction and there are no other PMT triggers like AV search+ etc in my settings.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
Just a simple tweak

This deserves to be placed under Success Stories. What a quick, easy fix for a common problem TEX and I am very happy to hear the news. Long may your peace continue.
I look forward to a simple tweak for other more complex rhythm disturbances. I am sure that day will come.
