Hello Fellow Pacers,
Any comment on this year's flu shot and side effects, if any in our specific case.
Would appreciate hearing from you.

Flu shot
by doublehorn48 - 2024-10-25 14:24:28
I got mine the first week of Sept. That's a little early, but I got it the same time as I got my latest booster. Booster was Novavax. Had no side effects from either shot.

Last year my arm really swelled up and I had a bad headache from the high dose Fluzone vaccine. In prior years, I had no reaction to the Flublok- so this year I asked for Flublok and my pcp agreed. I just had a walnut size swollen spot at the injection site for two days. No other issues. I know several others who had zero reaction to Fluzone. I'm one who reacts to everything🙄

I don't typically react to the flu shot, and will definitely be getting it. I do react to covid vaccine, but will still get it. IMO, a minor reaction is better than a bad case of the flu/covid.
Ask your doctor, but nothing about having a pacer affects us getting vaccines. The underlying reason why we have the pacer is often a good reason to get the vaccine, heart patients are a higher risk of serious complications from the flu.
I'll let you know

I am scheduled to get my shot next week. So, I'll let you know. I get it every year as well as all the COVID shots.

Covid one arm, flu the other.
I could say RSV somewhere else, but won't.
Another year, I'll take a marker pen and mark up which was which.
Flu makes me groggy in 12 hours, RSV was a non-event.
For anyone interested where their vaccines come from, RSV starts life as Chinese hamster ovary cells. True.
No hamsters were harmed in making the vaccine, but if you start stuffing your cheeks with nuts, you'll know why.
No Issues

I actually got the flu and atest Covid shots at the same time in the same arm. And unlike last year, only a little localized arm tenderness, but no other reactions.

Mine has been planned for November 14th. Will let you know how it turns out. Normally no problems for me with the annual flu vaccination.
Last week I received the Covid-vaccination. This year is was done by using the Pfizer vaccine. Apart from some pain in the arm (felt like lifting a heavy object) everything ok.
Greetings!

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
I got it

Hi
i got the flu vaccine end of September. I chose to get it (as I normally don't) because last year I was on a cruise with a group of friends and 7/9 got the flu (I didn't/ and had gotten the vaccine last year as well)
I didn't have any side effects either time except for a sore arm.
the flu started early in CA and MA this year... and I didn't want to get risk getting sick prior to my big procedure coming up 11/5.
