I have VasoVagal Syncope and my Doctor wants to implant an Reveal Plus. Has anyone had this procedure, how did you feel during the implant. What does it tell the Doctor? I want information from Patients view for Reveal Plus.

Hi DesertRose,
I too also had Vaso Vagal syncope. I was plaugued almost daily with it for three years!
I do not know about the reveal, however I did get biotronik cylos wich has helped immensely. I haven't really fainted since my implantation in June. I am feeling much better and have far more energy.
Having to suffer with VVS is very annoying and hopefully this PM will really help you! Good Luck and keep us updated.
Christine
Just to clarify...

The Reveal is NOT a pacemaker. It is an internal loop recorder device that is implanted beneath the skin and can stay there for up to 14 months. It can be set to automatically capture an EKG of the heart during a syncopal event or the patient can press a button (on a remote they carry with them at all times) after the event to capture a picture of the heart's activity. I'm not a doctor or know everything about this device, but this is a quick look at what this device is...

Hi, DesertRose!
I had never heard of the Reveal Plus before, so I had to go off searching for some information on it via the web. This device is made by Medtronic, and they have a nice little site regarding it and syncope. You can go to www.fainting.com and check it out or at:

I, too, have VVS along with some other issues like heart block and severe bradycardia, so I understand your frustrations with the whole thing. I now have a pacemaker which is a true blessing. I will be interested to see if anyone here has this device and how it has been going for them...
In the meantime....check out the web sites. I looked over them and they seem to be a good start for information!
