Life lessons are things we learn from past experiences of sorrow and regret. This cite seems as a family pacers. We can all relate and some ways depend on each other. Everday, I think how fortunate I am to be alive, and to have a heart problem. It seems strange to thank God for such a strange thing. To thank him for heart problem, but my pacer has taught me the most important life lessons even as easy concepts they are that does not mean we all grasp them.
The biggest pacer life lesson to me is:
Just because people see you at a disadvantage does not mean you are, it just makes you wiser to see what they dont see.
We are all very fortunate. I hope you all may see, we are at a advantage. We see the unseeable. For an average person the unimaginable and we should bare our "burdens" proudly. We our pacer people and we our at an advantage. If you open your eyes you'll see, we truly our. Many of my peers see my heart problem as a burden but I see it as my greatest advantage, and disadvantage at the same time to some.
My pacer and parents have taught me so many lessons. My pacer has impacted my life in such a grave way its like something i cant live without--literally--but can never imagine myself without.
When you recieve your pacer as an adult, it is seemingly your greatest disadvantage--but as for me, i'm not an adult quit yet. Through it i have decided my career, found myself, decided how i want to leave my mark in the world, conquered what people make see my disablility, found the true people who love me, and found not to judge others harshly.
I hope you all find or have found your pacer life lesson. I certainly am finding mine, little by little.

second chance
by bowlrbob - 2007-12-18 02:12:43
Marisa, I am much older than you and have been around the block. But you have already caught up with me and most of the people here. Keep that attitude. And by the way i want you to know as an older person I see my Pacemaker as a second life. A chance to relive some things a chance to get it right this time. Not everyone is lucky enough to get 2 chances so this has been a great blessing. I did not see it that way at first but it has become more clear as time goes on. I am very glad these little machines were there for you so you could enjoy a first time. And WOW! just think every time you receive a new one you get another chance at life. I can see by what you write that you will do well with your many lives ahead. Bowlrbob

Hey Sweetie,
I just wanted to say how excited it made me to read this. I have seen such a change in you from when I first started reading your posts. You seem so much happier and it makes me excited. Life is short and we are well blessed beyond even through the hard times. I admire your strength and am so proud of you.
I do pray that you will fullfill your dreams and then figure out how to make these amazing computers even more amazing.
Have a Merry Christmas!

Dearest Marisa,
You are truly a shining star. How fortunate I am to call you my friend. I only hope that I can measure up. You are so young and yet so wise. ;-)
I am waiting patiently for a chance to read the paper that is being written by your friend. I can hardly wait!
You are truly a person who brings light to those who are trying to find their way through darkness. A shinning star!
love, pacergirl

I soooo totally agree with you! I really think people with PMs come away with the same lessons, I truly do. You are so cool and I want to talk to you again because you are the only PM teen that bothered to talk to me.
You know you're wired when...
Airport security gives you free massages.
