Hi pinkiepie,
Just missed you in chat.
I got my pacer in 2004 as I had SSS.Had a few problems at first but feeling great now.How do you think you pulled your lead?I am very scared I may do this one day ! I keep myself pretty active and I have always wondered what sort of activity would cause a lead to pull out.!Are you having it checked out again?Let us know how you go.Take care-Kay
thanx all

I really can relate to what you are experiencing. For me, I can tell you it has been one of two things. I have always experienced a feeling like the pacemaker would pause and then I would feel a very "heavy" type beat. Finally this was explained to me as a PVC (premature ventricular contraction). The pacer doesn't prevent these from occuring. When I would get a few in a row, it will make me feel dizzy and lighteheaded. A deep breath, or getting up and moving around takes care of it for me.
The other possibility is a scarred over lead. This is similar to a dislodged lead in feeling because either way, the electrical impulse is not reaching heart muscle.
Your doctor should be able to tell you if you can document the time in which you feel these. He can then go back to your pacemaker readout and see if they are PVC's. A scarred over lead needs immediate attention.
Best of luck to you,
Gellia

Hi Pinkypie.
Welcome to the Pacemaker Club.
No, you are not mad. The weird thing about your post is that today, I experienced the same thing.
Then I come on the site, and there you are describing exactly what I've been feeling, pauses and all.
I've had my pacer since July 2004, and I didn't think it was possible to pull a lead after so long. I guess anything is possible.
I have my 6 months pacer check next week, hopefully, I'll find out what's going on, if I can wait that long.
Meanwhile, see if you can make an appointment to see your doctor, you don't want to risk getting worse, in case it is a pulled lead.
Take care,
~ Dominique ~
