Fishing???

I have a St. Jude Medical pacemaker Model 5342 in my chest since 2000. I love to fish but have been reluctant to go out on charter boats because I have found no one to give me a definitive answer regarding the radar on board ship. Will these shipboard radar units affect my pacemaker?

Would appreciate whatever data you can provide me on this matter.

Don't know if same radar but I have been on several ferry rides in Seattle area in last few year plus one in Canada that went to Victoria. These rides were from one to several hours & altho I am completely PM dependent I had no problems. May be different on smaller boats tho.

I have had a pacemaker for 30 years. Probably 15 years ago I went out on a charter boat fishing and had no problems. I've never heard anything about pacemakers and radars but that is a good question!
