Bands & Pm

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if..going to a live band that plays very loud music can affect your Pm & Heart? My son plays in a band & I do like to go & listen to him I also like to hear others play. Last night I went to hear a band and after awhile...it seemed like I could feel every beat in my Pm...Is this possible? I sure hope not.

Vibrations & rate response huh? LOL... I would never have thought that would affect it! Although it makes perfect sense!

OTOH... I know that you are supposed to stay away from the magnets in the speakers- so If I were going, I would just keep my distance & enjoy your son Gloria!

Thanks Rick~ I learned something new today. LOL.... who would have thunk it?!

The rate response in your unit needs to be adjusted most likely. It is set up to respond to movement and vibration that would indicate you are doing exercise.
The settings can be changed to keep vibrations from bothering it. For instance, vibrating machinery at work and my motorcycle don't bother mine at all since I had it adjusted. I also play drums and so far that hasn't bothered it either.
However in the beginning, before I had it adjusted, everything seemed to bother it and my heart would speed up in response. Rick

Rate response can do funny things. Before I had mine turned off, the jets in my hot tub would send my HR soaring. Then I discovered I could "twiddle" the pacer under my skin and do the same thing. At the next checkup I showed this to the Medtronics rep and he agreed that I didn't need rate response. He had only turned it on because the cardiologist wanted it.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
