I got a pacemaker installed about 4 months ago - recently I have been feeling some problems - I feel shortness of breath and my pulse rate is fast and I feel like my pacemaker is fluttering
I am currently visiting the US and will return to my home country in 3 weeks

Get medical advice

I'm sorry you are having problems. However, I really think you need to get medical attention soon.

My pacemaker doctor told me to go to the emergency room if I experienced any of the symptoms you mention... if I was also having shortness of breath with those symptoms.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Sending best wishes,
Suze

get directly to an emergency department. it is a risk to take the chance when you are short of breath and you don't feel right. let us know what you find out jessie. susy and smitty gave you excellent advice. we tend to deny things. better safe than sorry

I strongly recommend that you follow Suze's advice., Your problem may of may not be pacemaker related, but it definately sounds heart related.

Wishing you the best,

Smitty

Thank you all so much for the comments _ I did make an appointment with a cardiologist for tomorrow afternoon - My shortness of breath is gone but I dont want to take any chances and I am so worried about the long trip back to India - ( I am dying to go back home though)

You know you're wired when...

You invested in the Energizer battery company.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
