ITS IN

Had my PM fitted yesterday morning 29th Jan at 9.20 am. Not as bad I thought it would be. Its a bit painful and a bit bruised, but this is only the first day. Hope it will improve as they days go by.

Thanks to all those who sent me kind thoughts and best wishes.

Regards

Teresa

Improvement WILL come!

Congrats! You are now bionic!

Serisouly, though, ice the site often. That helped so much more than even taking Tylenol or whatnot. Take an easy and don't be hard on yourself if you think you aren't recovering as fast as you expected. In time, you won't even notice it. Use lots of pillows to prop yourself up, too. And be careful with that arm! It helps to have a hand held shower head to wash your hair etc. And when you wear a bra, put a folded hankie between the incision site and the strap to keep the strap from rubbing.

Please let us know if we can be of any specific help if you have questions!

Thanks ela-girl for the tip on ice, I will see if I have any peas in the freezer. I did have about 3 pillows in the bed last night but kept slipping down the bed!, I think it was my silky type pyjamas!!! I had to get up several times to put myself straight. Hope I haven't pulled any wires. I expect people worry about pulling wires, don;t know how easy that is to do. The bruise is coming out more tonight. I am taking 1000mg paracetamol which does help, but wears off. Hopefully things will get better day by day.

You are now a HYBRID

Did you realize that, you now run on a battery part of the time! Mine was done on 1/11 and I felt a little sore but nothing that required any pain meds even tho' I had a prescription for Vycodin (should have sent my pills to Dr. House). It felt more like insect bites to me. You'll be fine in a couple of days.

Welcome to the club!

Many people find the anxiety before harder than actually getting it implanted. I'm glad things went well .

Get lots of rest and keep your arms below your head for awhile.
