Symphony 2550 problems
!st time here and am impressed with the site. This is my 2nd pm and as with the 1st and having problems. My problems is atril fib from the begining with the 1st pm.The pm kept me at 70 beats so I could take Rythmol. Without the pm my normal was 58. Rythmol drove me down to 42. After two years on the 1st pm they turned off the flywheel and I had no more problems.
With this pm they had the sensors at first at 9. then 7, then 5, then 3 and finally they turned off sensors. Still not right. I might add here I play tennis 2 to 3 times a week and work out also. I am 68 years old and retired. I take Rythmol 300 mg 3/day and 50mg atenolol 1/day. Was taking Crestor but was making me weak in the legs and giving atril fib. My question has anyone else had any problems with the Symphony 2550 by the Ela medical a sorin group company.

Hi all
I have the same DR2550 ,3 hour op no sedation felt great after and until my first pacing check and they made some ajustments strange feeling but I seem to have some of my old A/F and slow pulse problems back ,due for my 2nd check in December, my GP who is very good thinks they have reduced the settings a bit to low which can I am told happen so I have told my Cardiologist about it and a bit of retuning is all that is needed I think you may have a similar problem The thing is let them know or they cannot fix it.
stay well

Try to concentrate on how youre able to be active again and feel normal, rather than on having a machine stuck in your body.
I have this PM, too!!

Hi, motorhome!
I have this exact pacemaker...Ela Symphony DR 2550, too, made by the Sorin Group. I have not had a single problem since having my pm implanted. I love it so much that it's going to be hard letting it go when the time comes for battery replacement. This is my first pacemaker, too, so I'm a bit attached because nothing has gone wrong. I had my pm implanted via emergency surgery for neurocardiogenic syncope and severe bradycardia. What was your initial reason for the pm? I also take Toprol XL 50mg a daily.
Wish I could be of more help...you can always private message me if you need to!
