Pain

Well This question is for the women in our wonderful group. No offense guys.

But I was wondering if any of the women noticed any pain in their arm pit area after taking their bra off. I noticed that everytime I take off my bra I have pain in my arm pit area and around my pacemaker. Its not to serious but can be very uncomfortable so I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing it and if they have found a way to make the pain go away.

Thanks every one,
Britt<3

discomfort

hi Britt,

I don't know about all women but I'm absolutely sure that our breasts and our generally smaller physic often cause us more issues. I have talked to my doctors about pain and discomfort which I have experienced since my implant in 05" and have been repeatedly told our physical differences and our hormonal fluctuations create gender based complications.

As for the bra issue. For along time I would not go without a bra because the pendulance created discomfort. Then, after my electrical storm, I began not wearing a bra because all I was doing was laying down most of the time. Now... I have discomfort when I initially put a bra back on and then it subsides, the same is true when regularly going without a bra too. My areas of discomfort are my armpit, chest, clavical area and around my sternum. I also experience specific irritation from where the strap rubs over the implant scar and device. In the beginning actually had pain. As time has gone by, it has become more discomfort and irritating. Personally, I think it's that I have become accustomed to the pain and living with it. Choosing to regularly wear a bra or not on a consistent basis is what gives me the most relief. Your not alone.

I haven't had that problem but it appears my ep did me a favor-I dont know if it was intentional but the pm site allows my bra strap to lay next to the site rather than right over it. I haven't been able to tell much difference between with bra or without but am not petite enough to have the option of going braless outside of the house! You might want to try padding between the strap and the site. I agree that we as women have special issues-no one ever suggested to me before implantation that I had a choice of where the pm was implanted. Don't know that I would have chosen behind the breast but would have appreciated having the choice.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.
