I sure hope you can dance.

Only your doc knows but obviously you love it, so fingers crossed for a big YES YOU CAN! ;)

Enjoy yourself!

Hailey123~

I don't have the answer to your questions of if you can or can't not be allowed to be on the dance team. This is totally up to your MD and parents. Whatever the decision I'm cheering for you and hope that you get to dance until your heart is content.

Life is short and we must life it to the fullest of our ability! Live your dreams...

Cheering for you to dance on the team!

I have no experience with dancing, but I was told I might not ever be able to ride horses due to risk of being thrown off. I had to fight for what I wanted and I can ride again.

I would check with your doctor first, and explain in detail what the dancing will be like...and hopefully he will say you can dance.

Good Luck!!!!!

Christine

go for it!

Hi Hailey,
Of course you should check with your Dr., but as a former professional ballerina, and now teacher with my own school, I can't see any reason why you couldn't withstand the healthy rigors of training! I wish I had my pacemaker when I was dancing professionally because my arrhythmias started in childhood, but went undiagnosed! I have more stamina now. If you are on one of those teams that throw people around in the air, you might want to bow out of being the victim [oops! I mean the dancer! lol!] of that particular move, but other than that go for it!
Happy dancing!

Hi my name is Stephanie I am 19, i had a pacemaker implanted when i was 13 also and now have a defib. The whole dance thing, it depends if ur dependent on ur pacemaker ( aka is it always pacing) doctors want you to have exercise so idk why dancing will make a difference as long as u dont get knocked out by a flying arm or leg lol, but i dont think it would be a problem, i am still playing soccer as a goalie and if that isnt dangerous lol then idk what is lol, i would love to talk to u more, not alot of people our age have a pacemaker or defib experience.

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Haily
You certainly can return too dancing again.Having a pacemaker should not retrict you from doing the things you enjoy.Of a matter of fact i just resumed my ball-room dancing courses myself. So all the best of luck.Keep everyone posted.Take care of yourself

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
