"pmt"

I would guess that "pmt" means payment. If your Doc says you are having pmt episodes, I would make sure you are current on all of his invoices. Good luck.

My Guess

I'm pretty sure pmt is Pacemaker Mediated Tachycardia. If you want to know more about it just do a Google search. Two Cents

PMT

Yup...twocents is right. PMT is pacemaker mediated tachycardia. I wrote about this for someone else just recently--within the last week or two. I had one episode of PMT recently, so I asked my EP to explain it. Use the search feature in the upper right hand corner of the site and type out 'pacemaker mediated tachycardia" and you should get posts about it. Long story short...it's when your pm creates tachycardia.

And...

One more thing...unlike what Peter has suggested, in PMT, the pacemaker DOES create the tachycardia. (No offense to Peter!)

TwoCents probably right

I think it means that the pacemaker has detected an episode of tachycardia and logged it in its memory. It is not caused by the pacemaker . These abbreviations can be very annoying as PMT can mean at least 3 medical terms. Cheers Peter

Sorry, Peter, you're wrong

Sorry, Peter, you are wrong and Ela-girl is right PMT occurs in patients who have a dual-chamber pacemaker. For an excellent article explaining the phenomenon by Professor of Medicine Brian Olshansky, go to http://www.emediicine.com/med/topic2918.htm.

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.
