confused

hi its me again firstly thankyou to all who gave me some feedback it was reassuring to know that it takes time to get back to normal. also im wondering if anybody knows what the aai pacemaker actually does ?thats what i have and also have an artieral lead what part of my heart is this in and what is it doing?? (i have my pacemaker because my heart rate drops to 30,s) uneducated about this i know but i dont get my check up till end of the month.. thank xx

AAI is a pacing MODE within your pacer that utilizes all spontaneous conduction and only stimulates the right ventricle when truly necessary, thereby avoiding deleterious right ventricular stimulation. AAI promotes AV Conduction by providing AAI pacing while continuously monitoring AV conduction, ensuring DDD pacing when needed for ALL types of AV block and switches back to AAI mode as soon as possible. At least this is how my AAIsafeR mode works in my pm. I have a dual lead for NCS and severe bradycardia.

After I posted the my comment, I looked again at the article I suggested (read it when first posted but haven't since) and found it does indeed tell what an aai pacemaker is, look at #15, going by what it says what you have paces the atrium, senses the atrium, and is Inhibited from firing if it senses an intrinsic beat (at least that's how I read it)

Don't know what an aai PM does, but a couple of weeks ago someone posted this link which gives alot of info on the workings of a PM

I am afraid I don't know about the AAI pacing... but I am learning too....

Just hoping you are feeling better. Remember, any questions folks here are great to respond!

Be sure and write down all your questions when you have your check up and get answers to them! You can also ask for a copy of the print out of your interrogation report, and ask them to explain what it all means to you. Some don't like to take the extra time, but hey, you need to know and understand what is going on! It's your body!
