Question about PM settings

just had my 3rd check up and everything seems to be on track. They changed 2 settings and am just wondering what they mean-the atrial lead and the ventricular lead had 'capture management' turned from off to adaptive. They also said they turned on the self check feature of the PM---what exactly does this do? it runs at 1 am everyday

Capture management is when a pacemaker sends out a pulse signal. The pulse has to be strong enough to stimulate the heart but low enough that no extra power is wasted in stimulating the heart. Your Capture management does this for you.
There is also a feature called the impedance check. The pacer sends out a signal that automatically checks the wires to make sure they are in proper working order. Yours is set for 1a.m.
Hope this helps. Sounds like you had a successful "tune up".
Best to you.

thanks
