I had my pacemaker implanted 6 weeks ago. What a help this website is to me. I thought I was alone with some of my feelings.
I am still getting used to the new device. I feel like my heart is racing sometimes, since I wasn't used to this fast a heartbeat. I am also having problems with low blood pressure, but I think that is the medication. I am not suppose to have another check until June. I was hoping to feel more get up and go by now. My incision has healed good and it isn't bothering me anymore. For you woman, I did find I was more comfortable when wearing a bra, even to bed the first few weeks.
I will keep reading all your comments. I am learning a lot.

Hey Jeri #1~
Welcome and I wish you loads of energy and speedy recovery to health! I've had my pacemaker since Dec 06' and I'll have to say that it took probably a good 3-4 months for me to have that "ready to go feeling" when I got up in the morning. The energy level still goes up and down depending on what all I've done. My best advise is to rest on the days that your body says to rest and go on the days when you can. I use to be one of those women who would be on full speed ahead when my feet hit the floor and stop when time to go to bed. Learning to slow down and learning to say no were difficult. Give yourself permission to say no to tasks and others.
We all are here for you!! Please take note of the search option in the upper right grey bar. You can finds loads of topics and answers to many questions.

Jeri,
I am at 7 weeks since implant... so we do have some things in common! This has been a great forum for me as well! Lots of nice folks here and great advice. I too was hoping for more get up and go by now... but maybe later. At least I can get through the day and accomplish some things I need and not feel totally exhausted. I am looking forward to the day when I wake up and feel "ready to go" again!
Glad you joined us and hope to hear about your progress!
