Hi, I am 100% paced with a single lead Guidant PM. 1st on lasted 3 years & a lot of problems getting it regulated right. Have had current Guidant PM since 5/03 & told have about 2 yrs left. Don't know why the change. Perhaps it is 'cause the lead was changed when 1st one changed out.

Hi Ferdie
I have a St Jude Medical dual chamber Integrity AFx DR Model as I have 100% dependancy. I have had it for just 6yrs and at last checkup was told prob 2-3 yrs life left in it.
Would your consultant consider other makes or can he/she offer any reason why it only lasts for 4yrs?
Good luck with your replacement op and hope all goes well for you

What brand is your ICD? My husbands was a guidant vitality A 155 and it was replaced in Jan. due to early battery depletion.

You know you're wired when...

Your ICD has a better memory than you.
