Hi: Perhaps it'll sound nonsense to you, but I've been told some pacemakers, in the case of failing battery or broken lead, will emit a warning sound.
Is it true ?
Thanks

True vibrations

St Jude PM/ICD
Mine does a self check once a day. If something is out of specs it will vibrate like a cell phone. I can't remember how often it vibrates but since May 08 it hasn't except when the tech sets it off during a PM check for a test.
The vibrations doesn't mean that it has stopped working, it is more like a 'check engine' light.
Later,
Charlie

You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
Certainly

Not familiar with other companies setup but Medtronic PMs certainly have audio alarms. If you go to icdsupportgroup.com there is a link with the sounds so you can listen to them or your tech can let you hear it (if so equiped) at your next pm check.
