Mikej, where is it you live that you lose your driving privaledges if your ICD goes off?

y???? i certainly don't understand y u dont have d driving privilidge.....bcoz i still enjoy mine....like any other person:) unless u will undergo operation in few days....this is to avoid accidents

I too am in Ontario, have had an ICD since 2005 had many shocks over the years until they sorted meds and settings and I have never stopped driving, except voluntarily. The rules are you are supposed to stop for 6 months if you get a shock, but physicians either don't report the shock or when they do it takes >6 months to get a notice from the government to stop driving. As long as you have a lisence you can drive.

I am in Scarborough, Ontario and I drive as well, been shocked a few times. I would go to a different doc, because he is the one who told motor/vech department that you cant drive with your device. I would be steaming mad if I were you! Colleen

Florida if you pass out you can't drive for 6 months.
I had several inappropriate shocks with a medtronic fractured lead 18 months ago but didn't pass out.
