My husband had his pacemaker/defibrillator about 2 weeks ago, and he still has radiating pain to his shoulder. My question is that does anyone know what he will feel if the pacemaker does anything, and also, what will he feel if the defirbrillator kicks in? He is still very sore, and really can't do much but sit around. Would like to talk to someone that has had this done. He has a refraction of 19 so he had to something, I hope the pacemaker makes him have more energy.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.

I can't speak for the defibrillator. But I did have a PM implanted not quite 3 weeks ago. I am still sore but it gets better everyday. Ice it if he hasn't already...I do and it helps alot.
You can't feel the pacemaker when its working. Mine is working a lot...and the only thing I know is my heart is beating..which ofcourse is a good thing! But I can't really tell if it's my own natural pacemaker...or the St Jude.
Hope this helped...I'm new so I don't have all the answers yet...I still ask! But..I can tell you what I have experienced. It's not as bad as I thought. I am so thankful for this site! I receive so much support here. I am trying to give back some.
