Thank you for your comments. Thankfully the noise stopped eight days after having my pacemaker fitted. I did ask the doctors when I went for my 3 weeks checkup but they didn't have any idea what the noise was.

I know you guys were talking about this a while ago, but just thought I would add my experience. I had an ICD put in about a month ago, and for the first 10 days I heard and felt a light tapping/clicking noise in my sternum when I lay down. I asked my partner and he agreed that he could hear something. I also asked at my first follow up appointment, but they didn't know what it was. Interesting that it seems to be a reasonably common occurence?!

I just heard ... am hearing now. Any updates on what this could be? Someone said their lead was loose. I hope not.

mine has been doing this every day now for about 6 months. It’s all day, every day as well as night time too. Dr have heard it, Medtronic reps have heard it, family and even strangers have heard it. Some Drs and 1 Medtronic rep was a complete jerk ! YET!!! Nothing has been done 😡😡 I’m angry as I almost pass out Dailey every day. I feel like my heart rate drops and that’s when I almost pass out yet the Drs do nothing. All they say is... we haven’t see nothing like this so we can’t do anything. It looks like it’s doing what’s it’s supposed to so why change it out. I wish I could post a video here so you could all hear just how bad it gets

noise from pacemaker

Hi, I had a PM put in on July 3/08. Shortly after the implant I too could feel and hear a funny little ticking sound. This continued to get worse over the next couple of weeks. It literally felt like something was twakking(for lack of better word) inside. Like the lead was loose or something. I went for my 2 week checkup and sure enough the lead had moved. It got to the point that whenever I was on my left side or moved in a certain way I would get this uncomfortable feeling and I swore I could hear it. I had surgery again on the 31st of July to have the lead manipulated to the correct spot and it turned out that the lead had not only moved but it was a faulty lead and they had to replace it. So..... maybe that could be part of your problem. Since having my new lead put it the problem went totally away thank goodness. I feel so good now after months of pure hell. I hope this helps you.
